Our Top Three Spring Colours for Children’s Bedrooms

Our Top Three Spring Colours for Children’s Bedrooms

Spring is the perfect time for a little bedroom reset. After a gloomy couple of weeks of rainfall, I’m certainly look to a few comforting colours to freshen up our rooms and bring springtime inside.

When I think about spring, some of my favourite colours are influenced by looking out into the garden and bringing those beautiful tones inside. They are also, more often than not, colours which have a really positive impact on mood and rest when incorporated into our indoor spaces.

Here are my top three colour picks for springtime updates: sage green, warm blush and soft sky blue. Let’s jump into why!

Colour #1: Soft Sage Green

It’s no coincidence that our logo is a shade of sage – and the very same reasons why we chose it are reflected in why it’s a great interiors choice too. Grounding, soothing and bringing the outdoors in, sage green is a brilliant colour for supporting focus and encouraging emotional balance. I love it as a wall colour paired with neutral whites, beiges and woods – it’s the perfect base from which to add pops of colours through accessories. I love our little panda print on a sage background too.

Colour #2: Warm Blush

Warm blush is a gorgeous shade for spring. Not only does it make me think of tulips popping up to signify the new season, but it provides warmth without overstimulation. Ideal for bedrooms, it creates spaces which feel comforting, while also encouraging connection and creativity. Again, when paired with whites and woody tones a warm blush can act as a great neutral shade, with pops of greens, yellows or pinks and purples all working beautifully in any space. Our moth prints would look great paired with this colour too.

Colour #3: Soft Sky Blue

Soft sky blue is a brilliant choice for children’s bedrooms. It feels calming without being cold and supports rest, imagination and emotional regulation. It’s the perfect shade to pair with whites and darker shades of navy, or with greens, yellows or greys. It’s also a great shade for colour drenching if you want to try out the trend with furniture or ceilings too. If you really want to go for it with bringing the outside in, you could also add some clouds to walls or ceilings with paint or shelves to create a really relaxing space. We have this cloud shelf for a Tonie box in our household and it looks great.

How to Choose the Right Spring Colour for Your Child

Before picking a shade, work with your child to understand how they’d like their space to look. Picking out samples pots and testing them together is a great activity too. If you’d prefer to avoid paint, soft furnishings like rugs, cushions and curtains are a great way to introduce colours without a big commitment. We have a brilliant range of prints for children’s spaces on our website, with more coming soon….so stay tuned!
